I Love Production - Ray Moon

Welcome to Ray Moon’s universe, only a few millimetres removed from our own, yet governed by an entirely different
logic. Here, luxury is worthless, while what appears to be waste carries existential meaning, dragged along for years and endlessly recycled. Making means destroying, failing is an achievement, and achievement itself can be either ridiculous or brilliant. It all depends on how you look at it.
In I Love Production, paintings emerge as streams of plastic and chemicals in The PFAS Series: canvases functioning as filters in which everything gets caught. Other paintings and drawings appear as direct or coded messages from Moon’s universe — sometimes recognisable, yet at the same time completely incomprehensible. Everything is created through a deliberately chaotic process in which multiple works develop simultaneously and continuously feed into one another.
The idea of endless production runs throughout Moon’s practice. It even resulted in an ambitious plan to supply museums and exhibition spaces continuously with “Production” through an extensive network of pipes. All of this takes place under the watchful eye of Character S., an ominous and unwanted figure who repeatedly emerges within the work. Fortunately, he is often painted over.
